    The Florence Italy Staff

    di Florence Italy (11/09/2006 - 20:27)

Hi, my name is Gabriella, I was born in Florence Italy many years ago. I have always been accustomed to see, to feel and to breath the Florentine Renaissance not only having in front of me the most famous masterpieces, but also simply walking around in narrow streets of Florence where the time seems to have stopped many centuries ago.
I studied art and architecture in Florence and I am a tourist guide in Florence since many years.
I put at disposal my cultural background and my love for Florence, I am responsible for several sections of the Florence in Italy site such as art, culture and tradition, tourist guide and, being a mother of family, florentine cooking too!
My contribution to the site is meant to be an advice from a florentine friend for those who are going to visit Florence with the wish that your travel in Italy will remain with you for a long time and with the hope to see you again in Florence, Italy.
I'd like to make some observations and give some suggestions and advices to those who are going to visit Florence. This is not a Florence tourist guide, you can find many of them everywhere, and you'd better read carefully at least one before starting your Florence vacation; this is a simple chat with a Florentine friend wishing that your Tuscan experience in Florence Italy will be with you for a long time, even making you come back again...

    Florence in Italy Blog

    di Florence Italy (10/22/2006 - 15:11)

Welcome to the Florence in Italy project blog.

My name is Andrea and I created this web site with one goal in my mind:
"To collect  and organize all the information about Florence, Italy and make it accessible to everybody."

To accomplish this mission I work with a team of experts in the main fields of interest regarding Florence. We are all florentines with a passion for our country and its traditions and with the will to communicate our florentine point of view on our beloved Florence.

The site is also intended to give advices about how to live your stay in Florence besides the ordinary tourism.
We want to reveal the hidden places in Florence and the unknown tourist itineraries in a perspective of an alternative way of touring Florence, less commercial and more similar to the florentine lifestyle.

We want the florenceinitaly web site to become a point of reference for anyone interested in some of the many aspects of the city of Florence: from tourist information to artistic life, from tuscan cookery recipes to shopping and entertainment.

Easy navigation and cross-browser compatibility have always been my priority while designing this site.
The omnipresent navigation menu makes easier to find resources while the breadcrumb helps finding the current location within the categories. The site has been tested for compatibility with the most popular web browsers on different platforms.
The HTML and the CSS are fully W3C compliant and are validated each time the site receives a major update.

This blog aims to keep track of the site updates as well as to share thoughts and resources among the team and with visitors.
Since the site has been just published I'd appreciate any feedback, criticism or suggestion about how to improve it.
The site is growing day by day and new content is added on a weekly basis, we work hard hoping to provide a complete guide to Florence, Italy. Always with a florentine point of view.
